PORTAGE (WKZO) — A confrontation between two men in Portage last Friday has resulted in the death of a Portage man. Portage Public Safety says that 54-year-old Kenneth Miller succumbed to injuries sustained after he was thrown from the hood of a vehicle believed to have been driven by 20-year-old Devonte Demeer Parker from Riverdale, Illinois.
A call to police indicated that Parker was playing loud music in a car at the Golden Tree apartment complex in the 4800-block of East Milham Avenue when Miller confronted him, eventually resulting in Miller being thrown from the hood of the vehicle a quarter-mile away. Parker allegedly fled the area, abandoning the vehicle at Meredith and Kilgore before being caught by police on foot.
Parker has since been arraigned on charges of resisting arrest, fleeing and eluding, reckless driving causing death, and failing to stop at an accident scene when at-fault causing death.
