LANSING, MI — Gov. Gretchen Whitmer earlier this week signed a bill allowing for alcohol sales inside stadiums at the state’s public universities’ football, hockey and basketball games.
Michigan State University officials say they are considering options but it’s too soon to say if alcohol sales will happen inside Spartan Stadium this fall, according to a report from media partner 6 News WLNS in Lansing.
The new bill allows liquor licenses to be made available for all public university in the state for the purpose of selling booze at stadiums on campus.
MSU’s first football game of the 2023 season is at home on Sept. 1 against Central Michigan University’s Chippewas.
