GRAND RAPIDS (WKZO) — Kent County jail staff members are being cleared of negligence in a lawsuit filed by an inmate.
Shadney Hamer claimed he suffered a ruptured appendix after being repeatedly denied medical treatment in 2010. Hamer was being held on armed robbery charges.
Jurors ruled Wednesday that jail staff members were not “deliberately indifferent” to Hamer’s medical needs.
