KALAMAZOO (WKZO) — Monday was sentencing day for convicted murderer Drew Thorngate, who was convicted of beating Francisco Padilla with a baseball bat and then dumping his battered body into a dumpster last year.
Thorngate had set up meetings with the victim to administer massages thru Craig’s list, but was stood up more than once and that made him furious.
He said at his sentencing that he was drunk and angry and when he was provoked by Padilla.
He says he just snapped and hit him with the bat.
He claimed it was manslaughter and not premeditated murder. The argument came too late, and Thorngate was ordered to prison for life with no chance of parole.
