VAN BUREN COUNTY (WKZO) — A violent head on collision on a rural road near the Kalamazoo/ Van Buren County line has reportedly left seven people, including four children injured. It happened last night on M-43 near C.R. 653 just before 10 p.m.
Van Buren County Deputies say it appears the 39-year-old female driving a White Buick Regal with her 10 and 12-year-old children on board, crossed the centerline and crashed into a minivan.
There were two toddlers and two adults on board the KIA Sedona they struck.
The Three on board the car all suffered broken bones and internal injuries. The driver of the Van, a 25-year-old woman, suffered internal injuries and the two children and a male passenger suffered only minor non-life threatening injuries.
Two adults had to be pried from the wreckage and at the same time protected from the cold which was at 5-below at the time.
All the victims were from Mattawan and all are listed from stable to critical condition. It’s being investigated.
