KALAMAZOO COUNTY (WKZO) — MDOT crews were out on I-94 this weekend, repairing some of the damage to the interstate caused by that huge pileup a week ago.
Separate efforts are underway to determine if the two lane design of the interstate is at all responsible for what Margaret O’ Brien says was the worst crash of its kind in Michigan history.
Congressman Fred Upton says for safety sake, and for the sake of economic development, it should be widened to 6 lanes from Kalamazoo to I-69.
A lot depends on the passage of the road bill in May.
The State Police investigation into the cause of the crash continues.
