HASTINGS (WKZO) — The fate of a Hastings teacher who was arrested for urinating in his backyard will be decided in a closed hearing.
Many showed up at the board of education Monday night to show their support of Stephen Merring, who was arrested last year for indecent exposure and eventually found not guilty on the charges. He says he stepped out of his house to relieve himself because he doesn’t have a bathroom in his basement.
Merring has contested his firing, but now a decision to overturn it has no timetable.
