ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – A motorcyclist was killed and a passenger was injured in a St. Joseph County crash. Michigan State Police say the crash took place on private property off of Maystead Road.
Troopers determined that the driver of the motorcycle lost control and struck a tree head on. The driver was a 60-year-old man from Sturgis. He was declared deceased at the scene.
The motorcycle passenger was taken to Bronson Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. State Police report the deceased driver was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash which remains under investigation.
The State Police did not release the names of the crash victims nor did they say when the crash took place. Troopers were assisted by the Burr Oak Fire Department and Lifecare Ambulance.
