LOCKPORT TOWNSHIP, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department has released details of a late Friday night crash east of Three Rivers which left three persons injured.
Undersheriff Jason Bingaman reports the two vehicle crash happened just before midnight on M-60 just east of Oakwood Drive.
He says a 46-year-old woman from Three Rivers was traveling west on M-60 with the vehicle’s headlights off when her vehicle crossed the center line while navigating a curve and collided head on with an eastbound vehicle driven by a 48-year-old woman from Colon.
The 46-year-old woman from Three Rivers was airlifted to Bronson Hospital. The 48-year-old woman from Colon and her 25-year-old son were transported by ambulance to Borgess Hospital.
All three were said to have serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
The Sheriff’s Department did not release the names of those involved in the crash and they say alcohol appears to be a contributing factor in the crash which is still under investigation.
Seat belts were worn in both vehicles. Assisting Deputies were the Three Rivers Fire Department, the Fabius Township Fire Department, Air Care, Michigan State Police, Bowers Towing and Brokers Towing.
