LANSING, MI — Former Governor Rick Snyder is planning to help the Republican party regain control of the state house. Snyder says he will co-chair the fundraising for the Michigan House Republicans in 2024.
Snyder and Kalamazoo businessman Bill Parfet have been selected to raise money as Republicans seek to win back control of the House after losing both it and the state Senate to Democrats in 2022 for the first time since the early 1980s. Both parties in the House have raised around one-point-two-five-million-dollars this year.
Snyder voted for President Biden in 2020, and Parfet was among Democratic Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s largest donors in 2022 as both stepped away from Republicans due to former President Trump’s policies.
