KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Planning continues for Kalamazoo’s new Downtown Arena, which planning officials say would do more for the community than just add a concert venue.
Jane Ghosh with Discover Kalamazoo says she can think of all sorts of ways such a facility could be used to attract conventions, and other big events that the city cannot currently accommodate. And they are pretty excited about it.
Ghosh says they are planning a trip to Indianapolis in August to pitch the proposed facility to the NCAA.
The proposed $300-million multi-purpose sports and events facility is tentatively planned for largely vacant land between Park and Westnedge along Arcadia Creek.
