KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The City of Kalamazoo’s Public Services Department will open its doors to the public with a series of open houses from Monday, May 22 to Thursday, May 25.
Public Services facilities will be open for a behind-the-scenes look at the work of the Public Services department, with facility tours, vehicle and equipment displays, and discussions on water, wastewater, and public works.
Activities are planned at the Stockbridge Public Services Offices at 415 E Stockbridge Ave, the Kalamazoo Water Reclamation Plant (KWRP) at 1415 N Harrison St, and the Central Water Pumping Station at 215 W Stockbridge Ave. All activities start at 5:30 p.m. and end at 7:30 p.m. Signage and balloons will guide guests to events at each location.

“We have a dedicated team here that designs, builds, maintains, and operates the vital infrastructure that we all rely on,” explained Public Services Director James Baker. “We hope our community will take advantage of this opportunity to learn more about the infrastructure that the city is built on, the work that is behind it, and the people who make it all happen for Kalamazoo.”
