CENTREVILLE (WKZO) — St. Joseph County has opened one of eight diversion assessment centers in the state. Lieutenant Governor Brian Calley was joined in Centreville by Michigan Department of Corrections Director Dan Heyns and Congressman Fred Upton for a ceremony at the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office. The center is part of a pilot program designed to divert people from jail and connect them with the help they need according to Governor Snyder’s office.
