It happened near Ravine Road in Alamo township at about 1 a.m. Sunday.
The Deputy’s name was not released. He was dispatched to help one of the many motorists who slid off the pavement overnight.
The Police cruiser, with its lights flashing was parked on the shoulder of the Southbound lanes near the median waiting for a tow truck, when the drunk driver came along and struck the patrol car from behind.
The suspect, who apparently wasn’t injured, was arrested for driving drunk, open intoxicants and a violation of his restricted license.
