GRAND RAPIDS (WKZO) — Drivers are getting some answers on how the new interchange will work at Interstate 96 and Cascade Road in two years. The Michigan Department of Transportation held a public meeting on Monday in Grand Rapids Township to answer questions, and officials admit it will be confusing at first.
Drivers will be funneled to the opposite side of the street from normal to go over the highway in what’s called a “diverging diamond,” and work is slated to start this summer. The project is expected to be completed in 2017.
