KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Here is another sure sign of the season.
Saturday, April 29 will be Spring Graduation for students at WMU. Commencement is held three times a year at Western, but this will be the largest. So big in fact that they have to schedule three separate ceremonies at Miller to matriculate all the students, and have room for their families.
University President Edward Montgomery says it will be a busy day, especially for him.
WMU Board Chair Shelly Edgerton says it’s always a special day.
Dr. Montgomery says this time around they will be awarding former Congressman Fred Upton with an honorary degree.
Ceremonies for the various colleges will be held at Noon, 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.
