BATTLE CREEK (WKZO) — Battle Creek Police are investigating an apparent attempted suicide that took place Thursday morning. Around 9:15 a.m. officers found a 59-year-old man in a vehicle parked next to the police station. He appeared to be unconscious, and in trying to make contact with the man it was found he had suffered from what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the head.
Emergency medical staff were called and he was taken by ambulance to Kalamazoo. It appears the gunshot wound was self-inflicted. The matter remains under investigation.
