KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – We could know the names of the semi-finalists in the Kalamazoo Public Schools Superintendent search sometime today.
Last night the Board of Education went behind closed doors to review the applications, narrowed the list to ten, and then came out into public session to narrow that list to six semi-finalists.
Board members praised the search Ray and Associates for making the job so tough, by presenting such good candidates.
The board just used numbers last night to protect the identity of the candidates. Trustee Tandy Moore still fears that going public with the names before the next round of interviews could scare some of them away.
Today the search firm will contact the six chosen semi-finalists to determine if they want to go on to the next round, and those that do will have their names released.
The next round of interviews will be done virtually next week. The pool will be reduced to two or three finalists, who will then be interviewed in person and in public during the first week of May.
