GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A former Western Michigan University public safety officer who had been previously arrested in a child sex trafficking operation in Kalamazoo County in 2022, has been arrested in Grand Traverse County.
Authorities say 51-year-old Abraham Martin Hohnke of Traverse City was arrested on child pornography charges on Monday, April 17.
On Thursday, April 13, the Grand Traverse County Prosecutor’s office authorized charges of: Three counts of child sexually abusive material-aggravated possession along with One count of using a computer to commit a crime and habitual offender second offense.
The FBI Traverse City Office provided evidence on Wednesday April 5 to the Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau that alleged a Traverse City man was uploading both age difficult and child sexually abusive material to the internet by a social medial app in a private group chat.
Hohnke was then arrested after the complaint was submitted to the Grand Traverse County Prosecutors Office for review.
He is currently being held at the Grand Traverse County Jail.
