LANSING (WKZO) — Just in case you were wondering, frozen fishsticks are not caught by Ice Fisherman.
You could prove this to yourself this weekend, which is one of two Free Fishing Weekends in Michigan.
The DNR says you still have to obey all the rules, you just don’t have to buy a fishing license to dip a hook in the water.
Unfortunately it was scheduled long before anyone knew it would also be one of the coldest weekends of the year.
If you do venture out, dress warmly, make sure the ice is solid, and hope there is a shelter over the ice fishing hole, or you may be the one who is frozen, and not the fish.
