LANSING, MI — Lawmakers are considering passing legislation that would ban the use of a cell phone while driving. The three bills would outlaw the use of phones and electronic devices for streaming video, making video calls, and using social media but allow for hands-free options like Bluetooth, in-car GPS, and Apple CarPlay.
The bills expand on the 2010 ban on texting and driving in the state that is already in place. We’ll keep an eye on the bills’ progress through the state legislature on its way tot he governor’s desk for signage.
