KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP (WKZO) — Fire investigators say they no longer consider a fatal fire on Gayle Street in Kalamazoo Township to be suspicious.
As fire crews arrived one crew attacked the fire while another searched the house for a missing resident.
They found 70-year-old Carol Gardner in the living room.
She was unresponsive and could not be revived.
Toxicology tests are pending, but they say the injuries she suffered were consistent with the conditions in the room at the time, and injuries suffered by house fire victims.
