KALAMAZOO (WKZO) — Kalamazoo City Manager Jim Ritsema had hoped to avoid the effect this year, that the deep freeze had on the city’s water pipes last year.
But all these subzero temperatures has forced the frost line down to the city’s plumbing in some neighborhoods and they are beginning to hear from homeowners who are losing pressure and in some cases their water to frozen pipes.
He recommends running a trickle of water constantly to keep warmer water flowing throught the system.
He says the problem isn’t as bad as it was last year, but as this cold weather persists…it will only get worse.
