BOSSIER PARISH, LOUISIANA (WKZO) — It may be the best chance in decades to solve a cold case murder investigation in Bossier, Louisiana, and answer the question of a former west Michigan family, whatever happened to Carol Ann Cole of Kalamazoo.
A woman dubbed “Bossier Doe” by detectives was found stabbed to death 34-years ago by hunters, dumped in the woods in Bossier Parish.
Sheriff Dave Faulk says the body had gone undiscovered for weeks and was decomposed. Fortunately they kept enough tissue to do a complete DNA profile.
Cole disappeared after her parents divorced and her mom moved south in the same approximate time period.
A composite drawing based on the victim’s skull featured on a facebook page by detectives who were still working after all these years to solve the case, is very similar to photos of Cole taken before she disappeared.
DNA samples have been retrieved from her Cole’s family and tests will be conducted to determine if there is a match.
Two long-standing mysteries could be resolved, and a family given some closure.
