BATTLE CREEK (WKZO) — Three people are dead after a high speed collision between an ambulance taking a cardiac patient to Bronson Battle Creek Hospital and a car.
Battle Creek Police say it appears the car ran a flashing red light at North Avenue and Garfield and struck the ambulance at about 1am Tuesday.
The female driver of the passenger car and her male passenger died at the scene.
The cardiac patient was transferred to another ambulance but was pronounced dead soon after
arriving at Bronson Battle Creek.
Investigators are looking into speed and alcohol as possible causes. The names of those killed are being withheld until family members are notified.
