VAN BUREN COUNTY (WKZO) — A Chicago woman was busted before the party ever started ,early Saturday as she and four friends were making their way from the Windy City to Detroit on I-94 to participate in a RAVE.
Van Buren County Deputies pulled over their vehicle because of defective equipment and found a number of glowsticks, a glowing tambourine, an open bottle of gin and small bags of high quality and potent Marijuana in their maroon conversion van.
Deputies offered a primer in their news release of Rave terminology. The marijuana seized is called “Dro” because it is hyDROponically produced. A “RAVE” is a large party featuring performances by Disc Jockeys and occasionally live performers playing electronic dance music (EDM). Rave Parties commonly have illicit drug activity that involves MDMA, commonly known as “Molly.” Rave Parties also commonly include additional illegal drugs such as LSD and Acid.
The deputies also could smell that the marijuana had been in use prior to the traffic stop.
Only one of the passengers, a 31-year-old woman, who was apparently the owner of the marijuana was arrested.
The other four were allowed to go on their way. No word if they ever made it to the party.
