KALAMAZOO (WKZO) — Kalamazoo City Commissioners held their annual retreat on Saturday to review their priorities and set their agenda for the coming year, which will be focused on budget cuts and engaging the community.
Their new IMAGINE KALAMZOO campaign was discussed and one route they intend to use.
They are initiating efforts to get the public’s ideas on how to find new resources of revenue and trim spending, while minimizing the effect on the quality of life in the city.
City Manager Jim Ritsema also announced plans for a task force to look into the issue of budget prioritization and revenue generation, to offer recommendations to City Commissioners.
