INDIANAPOLIS (WKZO) — They are home safe now but why were 2 kids kidnapped from Indiananpolis setting off Amber Alerts in two states?
It appears that drug dealers from Detroit may have been responsible for kidnapping Emma and Aaron Blackwell.
Sources say the drug dealers were angry because they were allegedly ripped off by the kidnap victim’s stepsister, Whitney Blackwell.
The Detroit men wanted their money back and when they couldn’t get it, they took the kids.
Three men are in custody in Detroit.
Indianapolis Police Chief Rick Hite says they have the step-sister in custody.
The father of the kidnap victims says Whitney Blackwell may have taken as much as 48-thousand in cash from the Detroit drug dealers.
The Children are in the care of Indiana Child Protective Services for now.
