KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Work on the water system in Kalamazoo prompted a boil water advisory on Tuesday, March 21 for a neighborhood near Stadium Drive.
According to the city, the advisory is in effect along the loop of Pine Grove Lane, Fair Oaks Drive and Sycamore Lane as well as one address on Shelter Pointe Drive.
Officials say those in the affected area should boil their water for two minutes before consuming it, but also say it’s safe to bathe in without boiling it.
They go onto say that water infrastructure repairs can cause a drop in pressure, which can allow bacteria to enter the system.
Authorities say the advisory is cautionary, and that no bacteria had been found in the system as of Tuesday.
They expect to lift the advisory by Friday, March 24.
