KALAMAZOO (WKZO) — Kalamazoo City Commissioners appear to be very supportive of Proposal One the state road funding issue on the May Ballot. They received a presentation on the proposal from a representative of the Michigan Municipal League last evening.
John LaMacchia says it may be a complicated issue but that’s because it makes a lot of corrections and changes to fix road policy and help communities.
Commissioners will vote on a resolution endorsing Proposal One at their regular Monday meeting, which is what LaMacchia says they need more communities to do.
One compelling reason for commission support is that the city would be receiving over $600-thousand more in Revenue Sharing, and $3.5-million more for Local Streets each year, if voters say yes.
