BATTLE CREEK (WKZO)– A Battle Creek man, charged with two rapes at the same Springfield Bar on the same day is keeping his lawyer busy.
The Attorney for 26-year-old Ray Cole, J. Thomas Schaeffer waived his preliminary hearing Monday in Calhoun County District Court, and talked prosecutors into reducing the first degree CSC charge he faced down to a 3rd degree charge, because of the facts in the case.
He will stand trial on that charge.
Tomorrow they will be back in court to determine if Cole will stand trial for the other alleged sexual assault he is charged with committing on that day.
