KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Another restaurant in Kalamazoo is closing its doors for good.
On Monday, Finley’s Grill and Smokehouse posted on their Facebook page announcing that the restaurant will not reopen due to declining sales during the coronavirus pandemic.
The barbecue joint is located on West Main Street west of Drake Road in front of the Maple Hill Pavillion shopping center.
The post states that they are working to help offer positions to employees who want to continue working with the restaurant at their Battle Creek location.
The Battle Creek location will also continue to serve Kalamazoo and the rest of Southwest Michigan with its catering services.
The Lansing Finley’s also permanently closed at the end of May.
This is one of several restaurant closures in the Kalamazoo area. Station 702 shut down in June, Moe’s Southwest Grill in Kalamazoo permanently closed in early May due to the pandemic, and BraVo! also announced its permanent closure in May.
The full statement reads:
“To our valued guests, We are sad to announce that due to the Covid-19 pandemic and declined sales we are permanently closing our Kalamazoo Finley’s immediately. We appreciate all of your support for all of these years and sorry that we have to end this way. We are doing our best to offer positions to any employees who wish to continue with us at our Battle Creek location which will remain open and also continues to be our home base for all catering services. We will continue to service the Kalamazoo and southwest MI area with our catering services. If you have any questions or concerns please contact us at: Finleysbbq505@gmail.com”
