STURGIS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – An hours-long standoff in St. Joseph County has ended with the arrest of a fugitive wanted on felony warrants.
According to Michigan State Police, officers tracked the suspect down Monday night, March 6 at a home on Mechanic Street near Virginia Avenue in Sturgis after receiving a tip of the wanted man being in the area.
After nearly four hours of negotiations, he surrendered and was arrested without incident.
Authorities say the man was wanted for felony assault with a dangerous weapon, and assault and battery out of St. Joseph County.
No one was injured during the standoff.
