KALAMAZOO (WKZO) — They didn’t survey the folks they sent to jail, but results of an annual consumer satisfaction survey commissioned by the state Supreme Court to rate Michigan trial court judges showed that 82 percent of respondents say that they got a fair shake from the bench, 86 percent got their business done in a reasonable amount of time and 93 percent felt that they were treated well.
Judge Curtis Bell says Kalamazoo ranked close to those marks in most categories and above them in others.
He says those are high numbers when you consider the percentage of people who actually walk out of a courtroom with victories.
He says at least they feel good about how they lost.
Allegan and Calhoun had lower results than the state average.
