KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Cedar Rapids based executive search firm has been selected to help the Kalamazoo School Board find their next Superintendent.
The Iowa search firm, Ray and Associates, which has experience placing Superintendents in Michigan, was one of four that school trustees interviewed last week.
According to Trustees, the firm was by far the most impressive. So impressive that they unanimously voted to hire them at their special Monday night meeting. Trustee Megan Maddock not only liked the services they offered, but their attitude, which was positive and enthusiastic.
“When somebody is eager and excited to come work for you or with you, they’re gonna give it their all. They’re gonna invest everything to find us exactly what we are looking for,” said Maddock.
Board President Ti’Anna Harrison says they plan an inclusive process that will allow public participation along the way.
“I want to reemphasize that this board understands that this is the most important thing that we will be doing. And we’ll be doing our due diligence in doing this work,” said Harrison.
The board hopes to conclude their search by late spring and have a new Superintendent on board by mid-summer.
