BATTLE CREEK (WKZO) — Battle Creek officials are reporting minimal damage was done to the facilities at Graphic Packaging off of East Fountain Street after an early morning fire Tuesday during the night shift.
No injuries were reported.
Investigators say that flames and sparks from a paper machine spread to a second machine. The resulting flames went into exhaust fans that set part of the roof on fire.
It took about a half hour for crews to bring the blaze under control, and all employees inside at the time were able to evacuate safely.
A damage estimate wasn’t immediately available.
