KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Kalamazoo County is filling two leadership positions in the next two months.
Chad Ensign will take over as the Director of Animal Services and Enforcement February 13, replacing Steve Lawrence, who retired from the position in November 2022.
Coming from Texas, county officials say Ensign brings 13 years of animal handling experience as a Certified Animal Control Officer and Advanced Animal Cruelty Investigator. He previously served as an Animal Care Manager and Senior Animal Control Officer for the cities of Converse and Boerne, Texas.
Ryan Post returns to Kalamazoo County March 27 as the Director of Finance after several years with Van Buren County, where he served most recently as the County Administrator. Post previously worked for Kalamazoo County for more than 10 years in various finance positions for the Health and Community Services Department.
Kalamazoo County Administrator/Controller Kevin A. Catlin says the expertise and passion of Ensign and Post will bring fresh perspectives and invaluable contributions to county government.
