KALAMAZOO MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Officials at the Kalamazoo Humane Society say their organization has received a $200,000 grant from PetSmart Charities.
Aaron Winter, executive director at KHS, said that the grant will assist in helping those who need basic veterinary care.
Winter also said that it will allow KHS to expand its outreach services to those pet owners who may be underserved.
Taking down roadblocks to services such as spaying/neutering, vaccinations, food, and information about their pets, KHS officials say the grant will help make it easier to find and utilize those services.
The grant is part of a five-year, $100 million effort by PetSmart Charities to help clear the way for easier access to basic veterinary services.
