KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The City of Kalamazoo is one of several communities in southwest Michigan to receive grants to promote safer street.
Michigan’s U.S. Senators Debbie Stabenow and Gary Peters say that the grants were given through the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Safe Streets and Roads for All.
Peters explained that “Michiganders deserve to have the peace of mind that their streets and roadways are as safe as possible.”
Stabenow added, “this is another example of how the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act is helping our state.”
The city of Kalamazoo will receive $750,000, the St Joseph County Road Commission was given $200,000, and the Grand Valley Metro Council also received $200,000.
