MASON, MI — Ingham County health officer Linda Vail is retiring this month after leading the department through the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Vail’s last day is Feb. 17.
Vail was hired as the county’s chief health office in 2014 and previously worked as Kalamazoo County’s health officer and Kalamazoo County’s bioterrorism and emergency preparedness coordinator.
The county says medical director Dr. Adenike Shoyinka will take over for Vail on February 18.
