DETROIT (WKZO)-The Detroit Tigers have done something for the first time in franchise history, start the season wih back-to-back shutout victories as they blanked the Minnesota Twins 11-0.
The Tigers got to Ricky Nolasco early and often as they scored six runs off of him through three innings of work.
Tigers starting pitcher Anibal Sanchez (1-0 0.00 ERA) was fantasic as he pitched 6 2/3 innings of work giving up three hits while walking two and striking out six.
Ian Kinsler drove in four runs for the Tigers today. Anthony Gose collected three RBIs as well along with a triple. Miguel Cabrera also tallied two RBIs.
The Tigers will try for the sweep tomorrow against the Twins at 12:40 on 590 WKZO. Shane Greene will make his debut for the Tigers as he takes the mound tomorrow. The Twins will counter with Kyle Gibson.
