BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Que the Creek BBQ Festival is back for its third year, featuring barbecue from local restaurants and start-up pit masters.
Organizers say the family-friendly event will feature BBQ vendors, live music, yard games, craft drinks, and more. The event is set to take place at Kellogg Arena Saturday, February 4 from 3:00-7:00 p.m., with judges on hand to determine who has the best BBQ in Battle Creek.
The Battle Creek Small Business Development Department is hosting the event which will include The Jessie Campbell Band and the Skeletones who will provide live music.
“The event has grown over the last few years, along with our local barbecue scene,” said City Development Director, John Hart. “The Battle Creek area has some amazing barbecue. Be sure to bring your friends to Battle Creek,” said Hart.
This year’s event will give attendees a chance at winning a BBQ grill as well.
Que the Creek will include 13 competitors – including two vegan – and is encouraging those who attend to vote for their favorite.
“Que the Creek has been phenomenal, and has played a critical role in the launch of our brick and mortar restaurant,” said Juliano and Daleth Jean-Jules of Island Style BBQ. They won the Judge’s Choice Award for best start-up pit master in 2020.
