KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A 22-year-old Kalamazoo woman is facing felonious assault and weapons charges after allegedly shooting at people in the 1000 block of Interfaith Blvd Tuesday night.
The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety was called out around 11:30 p.m. On scene officers located an apartment that had an apparent gun shot into the front door. Public Safety cordoned off the suspect’s apartment and made P.A. announcements requesting a peaceful surrender.
After being on scene for 20 minutes, the woman exited the apartment and was taken into custody.
KDPS reports there were no injuries from the incident.
Earlier in the evening a Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety officer was in the 200 block of Wall Street when gunshots were heard. A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle and the driver just after 10:00 p.m., with an 18-year-old Kalamazoo resident arrested on various weapon offenses and lodged at Kalamazoo County Jail.
Several homes were struck by the gunfire, but no one was injured.
