KALAMAZOO (WKZO) — Brian Roberts has been given life without parole for the senseless killing of his 2-year-old son. That decision was made when the Kalamazoo County jury said he was guilty of first degree murder last month.
He was charged because a two-year old son left in his care died from severe brain injuries administered by his dad, an ex-con with a history of violence.
The only reason little Nehemia Dodd was in the care of his father was because his mother had been stripped of custody.
Roberts apologized when given a chance to make a statement, saying he did not intend to hurt the boy, claiming it was an accident.
