CALHOUN COUNTY (WKZO) — A 64-year-old Battle Creek man may have been speeding when he lost control of his 2008 Corvette along I-94 near Capitol Avenue just before 9 last night, went off the highway and struck a tree.
A 12-year-old passenger was not injured, but the driver suffered a serious head injury and was airlifted to Bronson Methodist Hospital for emergency treatment.
Rescue crews had to cut up the Corvette to extract the two passengers.
They say seat belts made all the difference.The driver’s name and condition were not released.
