MINNEAPOLIS, MN (WTVB) – Max Kepler singled in the winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning as the Minnesota Twins beat the Detroit Tigers 5-4 Tuesday night at Target Field.
Eddie Rosario tied the game in the 10th with an RBI-single before scoring the game winner. Taylor Rogers picked up the win for Minnesota, which improved to 22-and-5 at home. Kepler, Byron Buxton and Mitch Garver all homered for the Twins.
Bryan Garcia blew the save after allowing two runs on two hits in the bottom of the tenth. He was charged with the loss for Detroit.
Jeimer Candelario had given the Tigers a 4-3 lead in the top of the 10th with an RBI single.
Casey Mize gets the start for the Tigers against the Twins Kenta Maeda in tonight’s series finale.
Tigers infielder Jonathan Schoop will miss the final week of the season with a wrist injury. Schoop was batting ,278 with eight home runs and 23 RBI this season. He was hit by a pitch on the right wrist against Minnesota two weeks ago and was transferred to the 45-day injured list yesterday.
Detroit activated infielder Brandon Dixon to take Schoop’s place on the roster.
