PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Portage Northern High School interim principal has resigned.
The district announced on Wednesday, December 21 that interim principle Michael Huber resigned following an incident at the October homecoming dance.
Portage Public Schools Board of Trustees accepted his resignation at a board meeting on Tuesday, December 20.
According to the district, Huber was placed on leave following the October 8 incident at the dance.
“Personally, I want to thank Mike for his many years of service to our students and staff in a number of capacities and wish him nothing but the best,” said Portage Public Schools Superintendent Mark Bielang. “As a colleague, valued member of the Executive Leadership Team, and friend, his departure leaves a big void in the organization.”
The district plans to assess next steps, according to Bielang.
