MILTON TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Cass County Sheriff is reporting one injury from a two-vehicle crash that his deputies responded to at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 17.
It happened on Redfield Street, east of Batchelor Drive in Milton Township.
Investigation showed that 35-year-old Shawn Bennett of South Bend, Indiana was traveling westbound on Redfield Street. Also in the vehicle with him was 63-year-old Karen Bennett of Mishawaka, Indiana at the time of the crash.
35-year-old Kyle Rohdy of Dowagiac was traveling eastbound on Redfield Street, when Bennet, who was traveling in the opposite direction, lost control of his vehicle and traveled into the oncoming lane of traffic colliding into Rohdy.
Authorities say seatbelts were worn at the time of the crash and that alcohol nor drugs are considered as a factor.
Karen Bennett was transported by SMCAS Ambulance, to South Bend Memorial Hospital, for her injuries.
Assisting agencies on scene include Niles Township Fire Department and SMCAS Ambulance.
