KENTWOOD (WKZO) — A 5-year-old boy is in critical condition after jumping a security fence around the pool at the Wingate Apartment complex in Kentwood and drowning.
He was found floating under the surface in the deep end Sunday evening by his 9-year-old brother, who had also jumped the fence.
The kindergartner was non-responsive, but CPR was begun and they were able to eventually get him breathing again.
The pool was full of water but the gate was locked and it had not yet been opened for the season.
