BATTLE CREEK (WKZO)– A quick response by Battle Creek’s Fire Department to a fire inside an apartment at 73 Freemont St. limited the damage to the multi-unit apartment building.
The fire was called in at about 7:24 p.m. Monday.
The occupant of the apartment was not home.
The fire department credits smoke alarms for clearing the structure before they arrived.
They estimate the damage to the structure and contents at about 60-thousand dollars.
It remains under investigation.
